These are changing times!

We live in challenging times. Much of what we knew or believed, much of what we took for granted, is being challenged. New ideas are being promoted.
What do we make of all this? How do we understand it?

  • The topic of racism has taken center stage in our country. Some say that the United States is thoroughly, systemically racist; that as a country we are built on a racist foundation.  Is it?
  • Our ideas about gender and sexuality are being challenged. Transgender rights are now the order of the day, and some say that gender is a choice.  Is it?
  • More and more, socialist, communist, and Marxist ideas are accepted and promoted.
    Capitalism is seen as evil.  Is it?
  • Religious freedom is being chipped away, and religion is often seen as a source of problems rather than a solution.  Is it?
  • Freedom of speech is no longer seen as a good thing; many believe speech should be controlled, and that certain types of speech should be stopped.  Should it?
  • Bias in the media, in big Tech companies, and in educational circles is common.  Is it?
  • We are divided politically, to a degree that most of us have never seen.  Is it?

How do we think about these things?
As difficult, and as frustrating as it can be,
we need to think about these things.
And we need to understand them!

Why is it happening?
What’s underneath it?
How do we solve the huge problems we are facing?
 

We need to be able to answer people who are asking questions and looking for answers.

Can you do that?

Can you challenge the idea that America is thoroughly racist?
And do it with facts and good thinking?

Can you defend the idea that there are only two genders?

Can you show the power of capitalism - the economic system that has lifted millions and millions of people out of poverty?

Can you call out bias when you see it? Can you see it?
